Lilly Muscat, Managing Director, was born on the 19th September 1970. She completed her studies at St Monica's school. In 1987 after a year at the higher secondary school she found a job at Wings Travel in Floriana thinking it was just for the summer. When it was time to go back to 6th Form she decided to stay on and completed the Iata International Travel Consultant course.

Since then she has worked a few months at Brittania Travel Services, seven years at A. & V. Von Brockdorff and three years at MBL. In 2001 she resigned from her job as Travel & Cruise Executive to start a family.

In the meantime she missed the contact with people and the excitement of organising holidays. In 2002 she decided to set up Royal Travel. She bought a computer and started working on her own at home contacting friends. She decided that it had to be a travel agency with a difference so decided to specialise in honeymoons, an area she knew well from past experience.

Seven years later, Lilly, Managing Director and Sole Proprietor of Royal Travel Ltd. is very proud of her achievements. She is thrilled with the idea of selling honeymoon packages and luxury cruises.

Lilly is married to Jason and has two lovely children, Sam 9 years and Paula 3 years.

Lilly in Liverpool

This year Lilly took all the staff to Madrid to visit the Fitur Fair and also to spend some quality time together as a group. She also took part in the UK cruise convention in May and invited Pierina and Louise to join her. In September 2010 Lilly and her family flew to the beautiful island of Mauritius where they spent 6 days taking in the amazing sights which this destination has to offer. She was particularly impressed at how suitable Mauritius is for a family holiday. Before returning she spent 3 nights in Dubai.

Pierina Marston, Travel Agency Manager, is 35 years old and has been married to Fabian for 4 years. She has two children. Pierina started working in the travel industry fifteen years ago and worked with three other companies focusing on business travel and package tours before joining Royal Travel in July 2003. She loves assisting couples in planning their ideal honeymoon. Her greatest reward is when a couple comes back with wide smiles on their faces recounting every minute of their "holiday of a lifetime"! For her each couple is different. She is very patient and does her best to accommodate everyone's wishes!

Like anyone who works in the travel industry, Pierina loves travelling. Since having her children she is somewhat constrained to where she can travel. However she has managed to fit quite a few destinations on her travel planner starting from Greece and the Greek Islands, Netherlands, Canada experiencing Niagara Falls both in winter and summer, Quebec City (still have memories of those narrow streets paved in snow), Cuba, Italy, Austria and Spain. Not to mention a relaxing week in the Lake District and short breaks in other European countries.  One of her favourite places is definitely Andalucia in Spain. Lately she has been on the inauguration of the cruise ship Independence of the Seas from Southampton and a familiarisation trip to Dubai where she experienced three nights of luxury at the Atlantis Hotel!

Pierina on Celebrity Reflection

In June 2010 Pierina and her family visited the South of England and spent 10 days at a Hoseasons caravan family park, an area which is great for outside activities. She suggests hiring a car as there are many places to visit nearby to keep the kids busy. She is planning to visit Seville over the New Year with her family.

Louise Bailey, Exotic Destinations Specialist, is 49 years young and has been married to Mark for 22 years. Louise started in travel in 1991 and has worked with two other companies before joining Royal Travel. One company specialised in business and corporate travel and the other concentrated on package tours/cruises and individual travel. Louise joined Royal Travel in December 2005 and is now immersed in the specialised field of travel to exotic destinations, cruises and honeymoons. She is very passionate and dedicated about her work. Her greatest satisfaction is establishing a friendly relationship with the couple, feeling their enthusiasm and organising an unforgettable honeymoon!

Louise loves going abroad and has travelled extensively with her husband since 1991. She feels that a travel consultant should constantly strive to improve one's knowledge and broaden one's horizons. Since March 2008 she has been to Argentina (taking in the glaciers at El Calafate, trekking in Patagonia, the impressive Iguazu Falls and experiencing a jungle lodge), Jamaica (educational visiting the Sandals resorts), Mauritius, Vienna, Egypt (Cairo and Nile cruise), Ireland (exploring beautiful County Kerry), Dover to take part in a cruise convention with her manager Lilly and also to Southampton for the inauguration of the cruise ship Celebrity Equinox. She visited Namibia and Dubai in September/October 09.

Louise in Sri Lanka

2010 was a busy year for travelling. All the staff flew to Madrid in January to visit the FITUR Travel Fair. In March Louise went to Costa Rica where besides taking in beautiful scenery and exotic bird-watching gave her the opportunity to undertake some adventures like white-water rafting, canyoning and ziplining. In June she attended a cruise convention in Southampton for the second year running with her colleague Pierina and manager Lilly. In July/August she visited Syria, only 3 hours away by air and yet you feel you're in a different world. September/October she visited Malaysia and took in Kuala Lumpur, the beautiful and serene Cameron Highlands, culture in Penang and lazing on the beach in Langkawi...And last but not least for 2010 she attended the World Travel Market in November with Lilly to meet current and prospective business contacts to enable her to seek out more unusual and innovative ideas for her clients. 2011 started off well... In March the office girls took off to Venice for Carnival and at the end of March Louise joined her husband for the Paq Paq Track Day where they raced on the Pergusa race track in Sicily. In April Louise flew to Sri Lanka where she visited many cultural sites, spent 2 nights in a small lodge deep in the rainforest and was lucky enough to see leopards in the Yala National Park.

Margaret Abela
is 49 years old.  She has been married to Joseph for the past 15 years and they have two young boys.  Margaret started working in the travel industry around twenty-nine years ago and has worked for two other well-established companies before joining Royal Travel in July 2007. Still in the process of bringing up the children, Margaret works reduced hours and focuses mainly on holiday travel for families and small groups, and business travel.  Clients are treated warmly and Margaret does her utmost to find them the best deal.

It was an interest in travelling that first drew Margaret to working in the travel industry, but family commitments placed limitations on frequent travelling. She has however been on long-haul trips to Venezuela and Thailand, and visited some cities closer to home in European countries.

Margaret in Treviso

Last summer 2009 Margaret spent an active but relaxing holiday on a camp site in Interlaken in Switzerland, an ideal place for families with young children, with visits to nearby cities thrown in for the cultural aspect. Last March 2010 Margaret experienced the wonderful world of cruising with her family on board the MSC Splendida and in July she spent 2 weeks in Switzerland visiting Interlaken, Berne, Lucerne and Zurich, again with her family. October she had the opportunity to visit Dubai on an educational visit offered by Emirates.

Diane Depasquale, Luxury Cruises and Long Haul Specialist, was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. She always had a passion for the travel industry and her career move started with work experience with both Qantas and a Travel Agency in Sydney. As her family moved to Malta in 1994, Diane dedicated her time studying the IATA COURSE whilst working in a local travel agency for 2 years learning the basic selling skills of ticketing, car hire, cruises and booking hotels and transfers. She then moved to another travel agency where she remained for 13 years. Within this company Diane began as a qualified travel agent gaining further experience in the travel field. She later became a Product Development Manager where she organised escorted tours to long haul and exotic destinations such as China, South Africa, Vietnam and Cambodia, India, Malaysia and Japan. Some of these tours she also led as a tour leader herself as she enjoys meeting people.

At 34 years now, Diane has travelled throughout the centre and south east coast of Australia, North America ( USA and Canada ), the Caribbean, South Africa, Dubai, Morocco, China ( numerous times ) and some parts of Europe.  Her favourite form of travel is cruising and she has been on 9 cruises already experiencing different cruise liners and destinations.

Diane on the Oasis Seas

Diane has one daughter, Shannon and loves to take her abroad with her when she can. With this in mind she has experience with ideal holidays for families and is extremely familiar with Disneyland , Paris and family cruising.

Her favourite all time destination would definitely be China for the history and the Caribbean for total relaxation, although Sydney is always missed.

Her own quote “ Travel is exciting from the moment you book your holiday. When you return you realise that Travel is educational . Your own experience is a new story to tell and remember “

Her next long haul trip maybe a trip back to Australia as it has been a while now, but any offer is always a tempting one for Diane.
